Everything on this site is written by me, Tim. I did contracting and carpentry work for more than 10 years before I moved into tech. You can read more about me on the About page.

How I get the tools

I bought every tool I’ve reviewed with my own money and used it on the job. No company sees a review before it goes up, and nobody pays me for a good one.

How affiliate links work

Some links go to stores like Amazon. If you buy something through one of them, I may earn a small commission, and it doesn’t cost you anything extra. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Commissions don’t decide which tool wins or how I score it.

How I use AI

Every review is based on my own use of the tool. I sometimes use AI tools to help with research and editing, and I check everything before it goes up. The experiences, measurements, scores and opinions are always mine.

Updates and corrections

When I add new results, cover a newer model or change my recommendation, the update log at the bottom of the article says what changed and when. The “Updated” date doesn’t change for small fixes like typos. If you spot a mistake, email me at contact@timstoolreviews.com and I’ll fix it.
